Obviously, GMA7 doesn’t think it’s wise to pair her with her real life squeeze, Mikael Daez. “I’m excited pero siyempre, may kaba rin, may pressure, kasi we all know how successful the first local Marimar was, which launched Marian Rivera to superstardom,” she says. “I just wish I won’t be compared with Marian or even Thalia kasi we’re different persons naman. Basta I will promise I will do my best para hindi ako mapahiya sa GMA for giving me this very big project. Our director, Dominic Zapata, says we will have a fresh new take on the story of ‘Marimar’.

Megan and Tom will be supported in the new ‘Marimar’ by Jaclyn Jose, Megan’s sister Lauren, Dion Ignacio, Jaya, Carmi Martin, Cris Villanueva, Ricardo Cepeda, Frank Magalona and Maricris Garcia.
Tom Rodriguez is very optimistic that he’ll have a great working relationship with Megan Young while they’re doing the new “Marimar”.
“We’ve worked before and sa storycon, we renewed our friendship so nakakabawas ng kaba that we’re off to a good start,” he says.
