Sa wakas, Derek Ramsay broke his silence sa paghihiwalay nila ng 6-year girlfriend na si Angelica Panganiban,
Ayon kay Derek sa kanyang panayam sa Paparazzi ng TV5 last Saturday, gusto nilang bigyan ni Angelica Panganiban ng space ang isa’t isa kaya nagdesisyon silang maghiwalay muna.
“We’re just giving each other space, we want to analyze our feelings, our relationship, and there’s a perfect time and place to talk about things.
“I think it’s normal for a relationship to go through trials and we’re going through a big one and we’re gonna take our time to figure out kung anong gagawin namin,” pahayag ni Derek.
Idenepensa rin ng aktor ang ex-girlfriend sa mga tsismis about her and John Lloyd Cruz.
“There’s no truth to that. Hindi ganu’n si Angel. They just shot a movie in Vietnam, and I think nagkataon, nagka-timing that John Lloyd and Shaina [Magdayao] were having a problem as well and I think that’s where all these… you know.”
Tungkol naman sa tsismis na sila na ni Sam Pinto, ayon kay Derek ay wala rin itong katotohanan. In fact, naaawa nga raw siya sa aktres.
“I only worked with Sam Pinto two years ago for a commercial. You know what, kawawa rin naman si Sam Pinto.
It’s not fair also, parang binabastos natin ’yung babae na walang ginagawa, sinasama niyo pa sa isang bagay na hindi naman siya kasali.
“So Sam, I’m sorry if your name got brought up; I apologize,” sey pa ni Derek.
Dinepensahan din niya ang espekulasyon na gimik lang ang breakup nila para paingayin ang loveteam nina Angelica at Piolo Pascual na kasalukuyang may palabas na movie, ang Every Breath You Take.
“Nakakainsulto naman kay Angel. Let’s be fair to Angel and Piolo and Star Cinema for their movie. Hindi naman siguro sila gagawa ng gimik na ganyan para lang kumita ang isang pelikula. I believe susuportahan ’yan ng mga tao, hindi dahil sa gimik na ganito.
“That’s why I put that statement. People say that I should protect Angel by keeping silent. I’ve kept my silence, Angel has kept her silence, pero I wouldn’t say anything if Angel didn’t know about it and it’s not fair for her, na people are judging her that way, and it’s not fair for me that people are judging me this way. I wish people will just accept it and let us handle things on our own,” he said.
Marami ang nanghihinayang sa kanilang anim na taon na relasyon pero ayon kay Derek, “Hindi sayang.
We enjoyed every minute of it. We did so many things together, we travelled the world together. She showed me so many things that I’ve never experienced and I did the same for her, so hindi sayang.
“Ang dami ngang nagsasabi ‘bakit?’ Hindi sayang, there were more good times than bad, but this is life, and sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you want it to work out, you have to deal with it.”
Kahit wala na sila, Derek says he wishes the best for Angelica.
“Gel, I wanna wish you luck on your movie, ang tagal mo nang ginagawa ’yan and I know you’re very, very excited. Don’t worry manunood ako, magbabayad ako para manood.
“Kahit wala ako diyan sa premiere, I wish you all the best and I hope we can sit down together soon and iron things out and sort things out. Wish you all the best, take care,” mensahe ni Derek para kay Angelica.
