CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A Philippine serpent eagle, one reticulated python, and two Philippine cobras have been released into designated sites within the Aurora Memorial National Park by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Regional Wildlife Rescue Center.

DENR Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Nueva Ecija chief Artemio Almazan, Jr. said that prior to their release the four animals underwent rehabilitation, veterinary care, species-specific feeding management, and health assessment at the RWRC to ensure their physical condition and capability to survive under natural conditions in the wild.

Almazan added that the center also implements appropriate biosecurity protocols and species-specific feeding management for wildlife under its care. These measures help safeguard the health and welfare of rescued animals throughout their rehabilitation period and prior to their return to the wild.

“Every successful wildlife release is a result of coordinated efforts, from the proper turnover of rescued animals to their rehabilitation, health assessment, and eventual return to suitable habitats,” said DENR Region 3 executive director Ralph Pablo. “We encourage the public and our local partners to continue working with the DENR in ensuring that wildlife receive the appropriate care and protection they need.” DENR-3/Punto News Team
