SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ (PIA) — The Department of Science and Technology Region III’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) continues to help students, researchers, innovators, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) turn their ideas into reality through its free 3D printing services.
By expanding its program and services, AMCen remains aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision to create quality jobs, enhance industrial competitiveness, and achieve sustainable development.
AMCen Central Luzon Focal Person Ivan Fritzie Sagmit said the facility serves as a center for additive manufacturing and 3D printing, supporting researchers and technological innovation.
“Our primary users are students, many of whom utilize our services for printing their theses, along with researchers, innovators, and particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Previously, we assisted MSMEs here at Summit Clark by training them on how to operate 3D printers and use their corresponding applications,” Sagmit added.
He explained that 3D printing turns digital ideas into physical objects for research, product development, and prototyping, unlike 2D printing, which only creates an image.
AMCen Central Luzon is accepting consultations for science, technology, and innovation projects, while limiting its services to research and prototyping, excluding commercial production.

At present, AMCen offers Fused Filament Fabrication and Vat Photopolymerization, providing accessible 3D printing and high-detail manufacturing with smoother surface finishes.
Sagmit added that AMCen helps small and medium enterprises reproduce obsolete machine parts through 3D scanning and additive manufacturing, thereby reducing equipment repair costs.
Through additive manufacturing and 3D printing, AMCen Central Luzon continues to support innovation, research, and product development by transforming ideas into practical solutions.
