SPO1 Joseph Mejia, CIDG–Bataan investigator, named the sex broker or bugaw as a certain Cristina and her “girls” as April, Clarisse, and Rosalie, all from Dinalupihan, Bataan; and Lily from Olongapo City. The sex broker gave her age as 27 years and the four from 19 to 24 years old.
Mejia said they were still ascertaining the real age of the suspects. “Sa bugaw ang kaso ay violation ng Republic Act 9208 as amended ng RA 10364 o Anti-Trafficking in Person Act at sa apat naman (kung hindi na minor) ay prostitution,” the investigator said.
He said that it took them a week to plan the entrapment operation after receiving reports that prostitution was going on in the hotel.
The suspects were caught inside a room in the second floor of the Le Rasso Lodge in Barangay Culis, Hermosa after the bugaw received from a police asset four pieces of marked P1,000-bill.
“Ang magandang dulot ng operation na ito ay nakakatulong ang CIDG para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng sexually-transmitted disease tulad ng HIV sa Bataan.
Chief Inspector Reyson Bagain, CIDG Bataan chief, briefed the operatives, social workers and personnel of the police women’s desk before the operation that he himself led.
He said that operations against prostitution and other lewd acts will help tourism grow more in Bataan.
Social workers Christina Ferma, Jessa Beltran and Moneth Gantang said that after the entrapment operation, they interviewed the suspects to determine why they were into the illegal acts and to establish their age.
They said they were waiting for the parents to give counseling.
”Ang general assessment namin, lack of parental supervision and guidance, sobra laki ng pamilya, broken family, na ganoon din ang ginagawa ng ina at irresponsible parenting as the reasons for their indulging into prostitution,” the social workers said.
CIDG said that investigation still going on.
