Cabanatuan advances initiatives to support PBBM’s agenda for accessible, quality education

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s national education agenda, the city government of Cabanatuan advancing education initiatives  through the construction of  13 four-story school buildings each containing 28 classrooms and plans for a new city-funded college.

Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara said that education remained among the priorities of her administration due to its role in improving the lives of individuals and communities.

Among the city’s key education initiatives is the construction of 13 four-story school buildings, each containing 28 classrooms, funded through the local education fund that aims to address the growing educational needs of learners in the city.

Thus, Vergara also noted that the local government continues to invest in school infrastructure to ensure that education funds collected from residents are translated into projects that directly benefit students, teachers, and their families.

According to Vergara, quality classrooms help create conducive learning environments that enable students to focus on their studies and teachers to deliver lessons more effectively and reiterated the quality learning facilities encourage students to continue their education and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue better opportunities in the future.

Furthermore, the  city government is also exploring the establishment of the proposed Cabanatuan City College to expand access to higher education for local residents.

Altogether,  the proposed institution aims to provide affordable college education, particularly for students who are unable to secure slots in existing state universities and colleges, and forms part of the city’s long-term vision to create more educational opportunities for Cabanatueños, Vergara explained.

“Education is the greatest legacy we can give to the people of Cabanatuan. It empowers learners to support themselves, makes parents proud of their children’s achievements, and inspires our vision of establishing Cabanatuan City College in the future,” Vergara said.

One of the 13 four-story school buildings constructed by the City Government of Cabanatuan stands as part of the local government’s continuing efforts to provide accessible, quality, and conducive learning environments for students.
