CLARK FREEPORT— In keeping with the freeport’s emergence as a healthcare hub, Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera has unveiled medical projects designed to serve its 151,000strong workforce, 1,200 locators, and a growing residential base.

Speaking before delegates of the Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS) during a welcome dinner on May 6 at Binulo Restaurant, Devanadera cited the Clark MultiSpecialty Medical Center, which will house pediatric, renal, and cardiac centers, plus a medical arts building. She also pointed to the Pampanga Provincial Hospital inside Clark, a flagship project of Pampanga Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, set for soft opening this May as a government hospital with zerobalance billing.

“We have over 151,000 workers in the zone… so you can just imagine there’s so many people here,” Devanadera said, stressing the need for healthcare facilities that can serve employees of Clark’s locators.

Noting that infrastructure must be matched by professional partnerships, she said: “So, with all these [developments] kung walang mga doktor, ano ang gagawin natin sa mga hospitals diba?”

“This is one great challenge for the professionals, for you, for us, to be able to share and do something for those who have less in life,” she added.

Devanadera also noted assistedliving and retirement projects, citing rising demand from expatriates and longterm residents seeking healthcare and lifestyle amenities.

The welcome dinner was attended by PCS officials led by national president Dr. Joselito Mendoza and vice president Dr. Rodney Dofitas; Central Luzon Chapter president Dr. Jose Emiliano T. Gatchalian, vice president Dr. Jose Bernardo Ranada, and governor Dr. Benedicto S. Joson Jr.; and Dr. Noelito Lacsama.

The event preceded the 52nd PCS Midyear Convention at SMX Convention Center Clark, expected to draw over 1,000 surgeons, fellows, residents, and healthcare stakeholders nationwide on May 7 and 8. CDC-PR
