Mira Aba said she was with more than one thousand visitors who made the visit of churches in the province starting from the church in Hermosa town. “This is our first time in Bataan,” she said.
Other Bataan churches to be visited are those in the towns of Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar and Orion and Balanga City.
At the Sto. Domingo Church in Abucay, they made the rounds of old images of saints and even bought some “pasalubong”.
The Abucay church is the oldest in Bataan and one of the oldest in the Philippines.
It is expected that more visitors will come to the seven churches of Bataan as the Holy Week nears.
Seven is associated with the “Seven Last Words” of Jesus Christ in Mount Calvary.
It is practiced by Catholics any day prior to Good Friday.
