SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ (PIA) — Rizal, Nueva Ecija’s first female mayor Hanna Katrina “Trina” Andres emphasized women’s determination, resilience, and capabilities in both leadership roles and the workforce.

These remarks came during the National Women’s Month celebration of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) where alumna Andres served as resource speaker.

The event, held at the CLSU Auditorium and organized by the University Gender and Development Office, gathered students and faculty to honor Filipino women’s strength and leadership.

“She leads anyway, with heart, conviction, and with unstoppable grit,” Andres said, stressing how conviction and power make women leaders unstoppable.

“Kapag ang babae may puso at galing, wala itong hindi magagawa (When a woman has heart and skill, there’s nothing she can’t do),” she added.

Her message also made clear that leadership goes beyond position—embodying courage, strength, and determination.

Furthermore, the mayor noted that National Women’s Month is more than wearing purple attire or social media postings.

She said the celebration is about recognizing women’s power, progress, and grit, while encouraging them to step forward and lead with confidence.

CLSU’s month-long celebration features various activities for students and faculty, including the GADmazing Challenge, JuanaSayawit, and SHEnergy: Feel the PowHER.

Aligned with this year’s National Women’s Month theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the celebration honors the Babaylans—pre-colonial female spiritual leaders and healers who contributed to women’s empowerment in Philippine history. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
