CLARK FREEPORT— For 25 years, a locator inside Clark Freeport Zone has been producing agro-chemical packaging to support agriculture, one of the national government’s priority sectors.
COEX Inc., which manufactures co-extruded bottles for fertilizers and pesticides, began its Clark lease in 2001 as a local supplier for a global biotechnology company. Today, the firm provides barrier packaging for pesticides and herbicides, helping safeguard the fertilizer supply chain.
“As we grow together, a lot of other people benefit from this. Your decision to come to Clark and renew your place in Clark is something that we value,” Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera said during COEX Inc.’s 25-year lease renewal with CDC on Feb. 19.
CDC under Devanadera has affirmed its commitment to food security and agricultural resilience, priorities of the Marcos administration. COEX Inc.’s lease renewal supports this agenda while contributing to the Freeport’s economy.
“That’s our role in the system: we provide the proper packaging [for the agricultural industry]. So, through the years, we have slowly improved, the capacity has improved, thank you to the support of CDC, we’re able to do this gradually,” COEX Inc. president and CEO Willie Haw Go said. CDC-PR
