ORION, Bataan- The general manager of the Orion Water District (Oriwad) was killed while her husband was critically wounded when they were fired upon by two unidentified men while about to disembark from their vehicle near the main gate of their residence here at about 8:00 in the evening of Sunday.
The couple just arrived home after attending Holy Mass.
PO3 Fremelson Pinmiliw, Orion police investigator, said the couple was rushed to the Orion St. Michael Hospital but an attending doctor declared Cecilia Tuazon, 58, Oriwad general manager, dead on arrival.
Her husband Emmanuel Tuazon sustained gunshot wounds in both arms and upper left chest. From the St. Michael Hospital, he was transferred to the Isaac & Catalina Medical Center in Balanga City.
Pinmiliw said scene of the crime operatives recovered from the crime scene five empty cartridges and three fired bullets from caliber .40.
The police investigator said they were still in the process of investigation as to the motive of the killing.
“Mabait siya. Wala akong nalalamang kagalit,” said Oriwad cashier Jenny Reyes when asked about their general manager.
Police said men in crash helmets and raincoats shot at the woman who was about to alight from their van and then at her husband who was on the driver’s seat. Neighbors who refused to be identified said they heard six gunshots.
Chief Insp. Cornelio Ordanza, Orion police chief, has ordered a follow-up manhunt operation for the possible identification and apprehension of the suspects who fled away on board a motorcycle.
