Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF) welcomed the holiday season with its annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony, held in time with the institution’s 40th anniversary. The milestone event brought together city officials, business leaders, and school executives in a shared celebration of tradition and community.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Amos Rivera, and Balibago Barangay Captain PG Joseph Ponce led the switching on the campus colorful lights. Savers Group Holdings Inc. Chairman and CEO Jack Uy and Executive Vice President Justin Uy also attended the festivities.

SPCF Executive Vice President Professor Leanne Happie Bustamante and SPCF President Lourdes Bustamante affirming the institution’s continuing commitment to its students and stakeholders.

In his message, Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of unity and the spirit of giving.

“We want light. In our hearts, we give light so that we can live together. That is the Christmas spirit: friendship, help, and love,” he said.

Professor Bustamante highlighted the significance of the occasion, noting its alignment with SPCF’s four decades of service in education.

“Today’s lighting coincides with our 40th anniversary. For four decades, we have tried our best to give excellence in education. As long as the focus is the students, nothing will go wrong,” she said.

Bustamante added that SPCF is preparing for its next step, becoming a university within two years, a move that will expand opportunities for its nearly 12,000 students across Pampanga and Metro Manila.

The evening’s atmosphere was made festive with free delicacies for students, including bibingka, puto bumbong, batirol, and Angelina Bakery’s signature pandesal, evoking the familiar flavors of a Filipino Christmas.

Extending the celebration beyond the ceremony, SPCF opened its Christmas promenade and bazaar to the public. Featuring lights, décor, food stalls, and local merchants, the promenade runs Thursdays to Sundays, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., until December 25, with free admission.
