CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Dairy Authority (NDA) have officially launched the P59-million General Tinio Stock Farm in Nueva Ecija.
This modern model facility aims to expand the dairy herd, increase local milk production, and strengthen the livelihood of dairy farmers.
According to the NDA, the stock farm will serve as a breeding, development, and acclimatization hub for imported dairy cattle.
Once fully adapted to local climate and conditions, the animals will be transferred to Dairy Multiplier Farms and eventually to smallholder farmers to ensure higher survival rates and milk yield.
DA Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Tiu Laurel Jr. emphasized that this is the model they intend to roll out in every region to help raise the country’s milk sufficiency.

Meanwhile, NDA Administrator Marcus Antonius Andaya described the facility as a long-term investment in building a strong and self-sustaining dairy sector.
The facility can accommodate up to 150 dairy cattle and is equipped with modern misters, cow brushes, and a 15-hectare forage area
The project was completed in 18 months, showcasing efficient and timely delivery for a government initiative.
General Tinio Mayor Sherry Ann Bolisay attended the launch, underscoring the local government’s support for the project.
The General Tinio Stock Farm is the first among five NDA stock farms to be inaugurated.
Similar facilities in Ubay, Bohol; Malaybalay, Bukidnon; Carmen, Cotabato; and Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur are expected to be fully operational soon. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
