Philippine Airlines (PAL) today announced the launch of thrice-weekly nonstop flights between Cebu and Guam starting December 16, 2025, establishing the only direct air link between the two destinations and complementing the flag carrier’s existing daily Manila–Guam service.
This expansion is expected to reinforce PAL’s leadership in providing connectivity between Guam and Southeast Asia, while strengthening Cebu’s role as an international gateway for both business and leisure travelers. The new service underscores PAL’s long-standing commitment to expand regional access and support the growing demand for convenient travel options between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific territory.
Flights from Cebu to Guam will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9:40 PM, arriving at 3:25 AM local time. Return flights from Guam to Cebu will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing at 5:15 AM and arriving at 6:50 AM. The service will be operated using PAL’s Airbus A321ceo aircraft.
“This new service enhances Cebu’s role as a strategic gateway to international markets, while providing Guam’s large Filipino community and travelers from the U.S. Pacific territory direct access to the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” said Richard Nuttall, President, Philippine Airlines. “It reflects our commitment to growing our network and supporting economic and tourism flows between the Philippines and Guam.”
Athanasios Titonis, Chief Executive Officer of Aboitiz Infracapital Cebu Airport Corporation, emphasized the broader economic benefits of this development. “We are delighted to bring back direct flights to the United States with the launch of the Cebu–Guam route. This route not only makes island-to-island travel faster and more efficient but also creates a stronger gateway for visitors from the U.S. Pacific territories and Asia, boosting tourism and economic exchange for both destinations,” he said.
The Cebu–Guam flights are part of PAL’s ongoing strategy to broaden its international reach beyond Manila. From Cebu, PAL currently offers direct flights to Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, Narita, and Osaka, alongside domestic connections to Manila, Siargao, Bacolod, Caticlan, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, and Busuanga. These services provide seamless same-day connections for travelers across the Visayas and Mindanao to international markets.
Guam, home to a Filipino community that accounts for nearly 30% of its 179,000 residents, represents a vital link in PAL’s U.S. network, which also includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Honolulu. By introducing Cebu–Guam flights, PAL expands opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange, while reaffirming its historic ties to the island.
PAL first landed in Guam on July 31, 1946, during its pioneering DC-4 trans-Pacific service, making it Asia’s first airline to serve the U.S. mainland. Nearly eight decades later, the launch of direct Cebu–Guam flights highlights the airline’s enduring role in connecting Filipinos with key international destinations.
