CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The United Neighbors (Pinag-isang Magkakapitbahay) of Miranda Compound Phases 1 and 2 warmly welcomed Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) president and CEO Federico Laxa during his visit on Monday in Brgy. Maimpis in this City.

During the visit, Laxa personally checked on the residents’ situation and discussed the next steps to ensure the security of their tenure on the land where their homes stand under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP).

The ECMP is the agency’s response to the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to prioritize housing projects for the poor under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Nearly 1,000 families will benefit from the five ECMP projects recently approved by SHFC. Among these are the almost 400 families visited earlier today by Laxa and several agency officials, including corporate planning and communications vice president Florencio Carandang Jr. and Central Luzon 4PH head Prandy Vergara.

The members expressed deep gratitude, especially when Laxa announced that SHFC would help improve the community’s roads and drainage system. Their joy was also evident when he shared that they would receive assistance for livelihood and skills training to promote their economic empowerment.

Laxa also shared that the individualization of their land titles could be included in their loan, making the process faster and reducing their expenses for its processing.

Aside from the United Neighbors of Miranda Compound, Laxa also visited the Coronado Ville Homeowners’ Association Phase 1, an off-site community in Barangay Camias, Magalang town.

There, he met with association officials to learn about their living conditions and discuss the issues faced by the community.

Laxa also conducted an inspection at Crystal Peak Estates in Barangay Del Carmen in preparation for the upcoming turnover to beneficiaries this August. Press release
