Team Skyro brings joyful learning to Camias Resettlement Elementary School with a back-to-school drive.

“All levels of education are important, and improving the basic level of education is probably the best impact we can make.”

These are the words of Nasim Aliev, co-founder and co-CEO of Skyro, one of the fastest-growing financial technology (fintech) companies in the country, during the company’s school kit distribution program at Camias Resettlement Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga – the company’s meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative shaped by employee involvement for the first time.

Over 30 volunteers from various Skyro departments gathered together to prepare school kits that consisted of essential supplies, including a school backpack, writing and coloring materials, white shirts, slippers, snacks and Skyro water flasks. These school kits were then handed over to all 550 Aeta elementary school students.  They also packed hygiene items like hand soap and alcohol for the school.

During the program, the Skyro volunteers were divided into seven groups of four and were assigned to different levels from grades 1 to 6. They brought fun and joy to students by playing games with them such as Bring Me, Hep Hep Hooray, Newspaper Dance, or Longest to Say. After the games, the students were treated to meals.

“Napakalaking tulong po ng binibigay ng Skyro na school supplies. Dito po kasi may target po kaming baguhin ang pamumuhay ng mga kapatid nating Aeta through education so sa pamamagitan ng binibigay ng Skyro, mahihikayat namin yung mga mag-aaral na mag-aral pa mabuti at pumasok sa eskwelahan,” explained Camias Resettlement Elementary School head teacher Magdaleno Magbag, Jr.

The school kit distribution initiative is part of Skyro’s mission of helping Filipinos achieve their dreams and face life’s twists and turns by bringing financial support, helping them become resilient, and giving them reasons to celebrate – from small wins to a brighter tomorrow.

“Education is still the best way to improve the future of children,” Nasim added.  Following the success of its first CSR initiative, Nasim vows that Skyro will invest more resources into causes that are meaningful not only for the company but for the country as well. Also present during the event were Skyro’s Head of POS Business Lowen Medina and Head of Communications Cristina Loquinario.
