BACOLOR, Pampanga – Eleven Rotary Clubs under Cluster 4-A of District 3790 started the new Rotary Year with a joint effort to fight malnutrition and support the global campaign to end polio.
The event, called Handog ng D3790 sa Kabataan, was held at the Maliwalu Elementary School here on July 1.
With the theme “Rotarians Unite: Nourish Every Child,” the clubs launched a 120-day feeding program for 86 undernourished grade school children. Each child will receive healthy meals and milk daily.
The program started early at 6 a.m. with a short ceremony. Club presidents and assistant governor Carla Espinosa led the signing of a memorandum of understanding with school officials and barangay leaders.
Espinosa also handed over checks to the school to cover the monthly feeding costs. Individual clubs that gave additional donations to support the program included RC Central Pampanga, RC Dolores, RC Eastern Pampanga, RC Greater Floridablanca, RC Metro San Fernando (P), RC Pampanga Cosmopolitan, RC San Fernando Pampanga, RC San Fernando Cabalen, RC Southern Pampanga, RC Villa De Bacolor, and RC Western Pampanga.
After the feeding event, a motorcade drove to SM City Pampanga to raise awareness for Rotary’s “End Polio Now” campaign. There, the group unveiled a Polio Donation Box and gave out donation cans to the public.
The activities were part of a larger, district-wide kickoff for Rotary Year 2025–2026, showing the group’s commitment to helping children live healthier, stronger lives. Press release
