ANGELES CITY – The city government has been recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government with a 110% functionality in terms of the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children, the highest adjectival rating.
“Kapakanan ng kabataan at kinabukasan ng Siyudad Angeles ang manganganib sa illegal trafficking at violence against women and children,” noted Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. of the rating. “We will not tolerate such wrongdoings in our city.”

The mayor thanked the DILG for commending the city to fight the seeds of illegal trafficking and VAWC, as well as the efforts of key offices to work hand-in-hand for the primary goal for the city – to eradicate trafficking in person and violence against women and children.

Since Lazatin assumed the mayoralty, the gender and development office, along with the city social welfare and development office and the Angeles City Police Office, has assisted 6,213, through the VAWC desk.
This, as the mayor issued a marching order then to ensure that VAWC desks in each 33 barangay are activated. Lazatin also regularly convened the local council for protection of children to revisit and strengthen programs for their well-being. Angeles CIO
