CABANATUAN CITY – A suspected hired gun and leader of a Nueva Ecija-based kidnap-robbery gang was arrested by a composite team from Nueva Ecija police provincial office and Tarlac operatives in Barangay Sta. Rita, Concepcion, Tarlac Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Supt. Crizaldo Nieves, Nueva Ecija police director, said that Danilo Galang alias Danny, 53, resident of Barangay San Francisco, San Antonio Nueva Ecija, was arrested by virtue of several warrants issued by various courts for different offenses ranging from violation of simple ordinance to killing of kidnapped victims.
Nieves said Galang organized his group with eleven identified members but whose names were not immediately divulged.
“This group has committed a series of crimes that transpired in Nueva Ecija,” Nieves said.
Among the latest crimes supposedly committed by the group, police said, were multiple murder in Barangay Lawang Kupang, San Antonio town on January 13, 2013. whose victims included Erick Esguerra, resident of Barangay Calabasa in nearby Jaen town.
The group was also tagged in the killing of SPO1 Elpidio Sicaty on Oct. 1, 20109; robbery attempt on March 15, 2011; and killing of couple Ireneo and Maribeth Bartolome in Barangay Calabasa, Jaen on Jan. 7, 2011.
Galang’s group was also engaged in gun-for-hire, robbery-hold-up and kidnapping in Pangasinan and adjacent provinces, police records showed.
PO1 Jerwin Lopez, investigator on case, said that among the arrest warrants against the suspect were issued by courts in the cities of Gapan, Mandaluyong and Manila.
“He is a target in the Complan 01/12 of San Antonio police station,” Lopez reported.
