SAN JOSE CITY – A gas station owned by the family of San Jose City Mayor Marivic Belena lost some P1.4 million to hold-uppers in a broad daylight attack here Tuesday afternoon, police reported on Wednesday.

In a report to the provincial police office, Supt. Sidney Villafloir, city police chief, said two armed men robbed Petron Gas Station at about 3:30 p.m. in Barangay Malasin here.

Reports said two men casually alighted from a motorcycle parked in the vicinity of the gas station and walked to the station’s convenience store.

Pump attendant Marvic Ignacio observed that the suspects looked like they were just buying something at the shop.

“Nagulat na lang kami ng magsisigaw yung mga kasama namin sa loob ng holdap,” said Ignacio. However, the suspects have already fled that time.

Investigation disclosed the suspects pointed pistols to salesclerk Virginia Sajor. Then at gunpoint, the suspects ordered her to get inside the office where Yollysan Buenaventura, manager was working. Also in the office were head supervisor Yolanda Hermusura and supervisor Roger Rafael, the report said. Then the suspects declared a hold-up.

Responding policemen recovered from the scene a gun holster with live bullets, apparently from the robbers.
