MA. AURORA, Aurora –  The skeleton of a Korean national, believed to have been abducted in Dasmarinas, Cavite in March 2009, were recovered in a mountainous area in this town on Friday, police said over the weekend.

Senior Supt. Romulo Esteban, Aurora police director, said police led by Insp. Lordan de Mesa found the remains of Chang Byung.

Police said the Korean was reportedly abducted by a certain alias Fernando Bote of Baguio City on March 28, 2009 in Cavite over undisclosed motive.

Chang’s remains, according to Esteban, were unearthed from a 300-feet deep ravine at KM 171 near the boundaries of Nueva Ecija and Aurora.

A witness, identified as Ronnel Mitra of Masbate pointed to the place where Chang’s body was believed dumped, police said.

The remains were placed under laboratory examinations by the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory, Esteban said.
