GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija — United States Ambassador to the Philippines Kristie Kenney led the inauguration of a classroom built by soldiers participating in the annual Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercise (Phiblex) in the far flung Bagong Barrio Elementary School in this town Sunday.

She expressed belief that the cooperation between the Philippine and American forces will continue despite the recurring global economic slowdown.

Asked of such activities would continue amid feared global financial crisis, Kenney cited the disasters where Filipino and American soldiers have worked together in pursuing the interest of the victims.

She also noted the surging cooperation among nations affected by the financial turmoil.
Kenney also said the feared crisis would end soon having all countries “working together.”
Meanwhile, Board Member Edmund Abesamis, president of the Federation of Barangay Captains in Nueva Ecija, said the project shows the “true picture” of what the cooperation between two nations can do.

Vice Mayor Lenny Dela Cruz of Guimba said the classroom donated by the Talon Vision Phiblex would greatly help the children in the village.

According to its officer in charge, Marivic Burgos, the school is short of at least two classrooms to make it conducive for children’s learning.
