CLARK FREEPORT— In partnership with 37 freeport locators, the Clark Development Corp. organized a job fair on Feb. 12 to connect transitioning workers with employment opportunities across various industries.

CDC president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera interacted with some 180 job seekers and companies at the Sanitation Division’s (HSD) Training Hall where the one-day job fair provided 2,231 job vacancies.

These opportunities were available to former CDC contractual employees, CDC dependents, jobseekers from Fontana Development Corp. (FDC) and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc. (FRCCI), as well as the general public.

The initial job fair evaluation results, based on multiple applications to various companies, showed that 36 candidates will take a trade test, 294 will have further interviews, 35 were not qualified, 88 are considered for future vacancies, and three were hired on the spot, according to the CDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Placement Division.

Job seekers shared their experiences at the job fair.

Adrian Manlapat, a former fixed-term employee at CDC, praised the organization for its efforts in hosting the job fair. “Today’s job fair was well organized, featuring a clean venue, diverse companies with welcoming recruiters, a smooth interview process, and a steady flow of applicants.”

Jose Zaragoza, a former employee of FDC, expressed his gratitude after receiving two job offers. “Malaking bagay samin ‘to, thank you po sa opportunity na ‘to. Dahil kung hindi dahil dito, hindi ako agad makakahanap ng trabaho. Tsaka mas madali dito dahil andyan na, ikaw na lang ‘yung pipili.”

Jia Santos, a walk-in applicant, highlighted the convenience of the event. “Convenient siya para sa aming mga walang trabaho kasi pupunta ka rito tapos maraming companies na pwedeng applyan, hindi na kailangan magpunta company to company, dito lahat ng openings ng private companies sa Clark, makikita na.”

Companies from various industries, including manufacturing, industrial, tourism, information and communications technology (ICT), and the service sector, participated in the job fair.

The job fair aimed to help job seekers learn about available job opportunities here and build stronger connections between employers and the community. CDC-PR
