Angeles City has now more advance Command Center with the installation of additional 210 security cameras in strategic areas bringing the total number of cameras to 375 installed all over the city, leaving no more blind spots here.
Among the new installed cameras are 16 automatic number plate recognition (ANTR) Close-Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs) in the city’s boundaries in Porac, Mabalacat City, City of San Fernando, and Magalang.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said the 210 additional security cameras will further strengthen crime prevention and the safety and security of residents and businesses.
Mayor Lazatin added that the city government also hired 39 CCTV operators and equipped the Command Center with high-tech computers.
To date, there are 72 CCTV operators who are working at the Command Center via three shifts.
The CCTVs are 125 PTZ Cameras with specifications — 8mp with 36x Optical zoom with wide dynamic range; 250 Bullet Cameras 4mp with wide dynamic range — and fully supported by fiber optic cable.
The Command Center also features a new facial recognition security door lock system to provide a high level of security by accurately verifying identities.
Mayor Lazatin led the inauguration of the Command Center with Converge ICT Solution Inc. Founder Dennis Anthony Uy on February 6 at the Angeles City Hall for the official launching of the additional CCTVs.
The installation of additional CCTVs is part of Mayor Lazatin’s project in expanding the city’s existing safety and security systems. With the additional CCTVs, all areas of Angeles City would be properly monitored.
It is the priority program of Mayor Lazatin to implement advanced technology in addressing public safety.
Mayor Lazatin has underscored his commitment to proactive measures for further crime prevention, as well as law enforcement and emergency response.
Mayor Lazatin has also encouraged barangay officials and homeowners associations to complement this by installing cameras in all barangay roads and subdivisions in order to prevent small time akyat-bahay criminals from preying on innocent residents.
Also present during the blessing of the newly-expanded Command Center are Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, members of the City Council, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin Angeles, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Command Center Chief Michael Lising, and some department heads.
