CABANATUAN CITY – Led by director Col. Ferdinand Germino, the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) solemnly observed the “Day of National Remembrance for the Heroic Sacrifice of the Special Action Force (SAF) 44” with a flag-raising ceremony and holy Mass on the morning of Jan. 25.

Personnel from the Nueva Ecija police, members of the SAF, and some family members of PNP personnel killed in police operations (KIPO) gathered to pay tribute to the gallant officers who courageously laid down their lives during the fateful encounter in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on Jan. 25, 2015.

Following the ceremony, a holy Mass was celebrated, offering prayers for the eternal repose of the fallen heroes and for the strength and resilience of their families.

Germino also extended financial assistance to the families of its personnel killed in police operations as a gesture of support and solidarity.

“The SAF 44’s unwavering courage reminds us of the noble responsibility that comes with our uniform—to serve and protect, even at the cost of our own lives. Their sacrifice inspires us to remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold peace and order,” the police official said.

The Day of National Remembrance serves as a solemn reminder of the heroism and dedication of the SAF 44 and underscores the continued commitment of law enforcement personnel to safeguard peace and security.
