Angeles City – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the creators of the short documentary “Siete Palabras,” after it received the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2024.

Directed by Jayson Gantan Pabalan and produced by Nicanor Abelardo Soriano, the documentary celebrates a century-old tradition in Barangay Lourdes Northwest, showcasing the cultural and spiritual heritage of the community.

Mayor Lazatin lauded the team’s achievement, noting that the documentary not only brings international recognition to the city’s rich history but also fosters a deeper appreciation for local traditions.

“Their work highlights the beauty and identity of our city’s culture and resiliency. I commend them for representing Angeles City with such creativity, hardwork, and dedication,” Lazatin said.

The film, which delves into the community’s long-standing religious observance, was praised for its storytelling and for preserving the legacy of faith and unity that defines Barangay LNW.

The city government, though Mayor Lazatin’s programs, continues to support artistic endeavors that promote the city’s heritage, encouraging future projects that will inspire Angeleños and showcase their talents on the global stage.
