CLARK FREEPORT — A Colombian national was arrested for possession of approximately 1,350 milligrams of liquid cocaine worth P8,522,400 following a controlled delivery operation in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City. 9:30 in the evening of June 25.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon identified the arrested suspect as Santiago Francisco Amado Sopo, aka Antonio Cordero, 32.
The parcel containing the liquid cocaine originated in Colombia was concealed in a shipment that raised suspicions during routine inspection at the Port of Clark, that prompted the controlled delivery operation targeting the consignee in Makati City, PDEA said.
Recovered from the suspect were one brown box, three plastic bottle containers, each containing liquid cocaine, two identification cards, and one cellular phone.
The operation was conducted by the combined operatives led by PDEA-Central Luzon, PDEA-NCR, Bureau of Custom-Port of Clark, PNP AVSEC 3, Makati Drug Enforcement Unit, and Makati City Police Station
The suspect now faces charges for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act )that is without bail. Photos: PDEA
