ANGELES CITY – Now, there’s a convenient way to avail of other government services.
Local folk here who want to get copies of their authenticated birth certificates would just have to visit SM City Clark’s Business Service Center.
“Same charges or fees, people could now pay their SSS [Social Security System] and Pag-ibig loans at the mall,” said Millie F. Dizon, SM Supermall’s VP for publicity, who graced the service center’s blessing yesterday together with officials of the Home Development Mutual Fund.
Aside from accepting bill payments, she said that the service center will also make it easier for relatives of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to receive remittances.
She added that mall goers will enjoy availing SM’s ‘expanded services’ even during weekends and holidays since the mall is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
“It is the second one outside Metro Manila. The first is now operating in SM Naga (Bicol),” Dizon said.
The service center is near Dentista which is adjacent to the mall’s hypermarket.
Leony Vitor, SM’s vice president for systems, said people could also pay credit card, cable and internet, real estate, telecom and other utility bills at the center instead of going to the banks.
“This is convenience to all especially to mall goers and the public,” she said.
Some residents here who are planning to get NSO authenticated birth certificates said the mall is just a ride away from their homes.
“We don’t have to go to the City of San Fernando at the NSO office now. Malayo sa amin, haba ng pila at napaka-tagal, magastos sa pamasahe tapos ang hirap pa naman ng buhay ngayon,” they said.
In a text message, Balibago Barangay Captain Tony Mamac said the business service center will lessen the movement of people and minimize their expenses.
SM officials said other SM malls will soon have service centers.
