BALANGA CITY — A new set of beneficiaries here of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program of the Department of Labor and Employment underwent orientation on July 7.
2nd District Rep. Albert Garcia conducted the orientation to 711 beneficiaries from different barangays in Balanga City.
The congressman said that after the briefing, the beneficiaries will be assigned tasks like cleaning of the coastal areas, participation in the Operation Linis Barangay and maintenance of barangay gardens.
The others will fence the vegetable gardens in the villages with bamboos and build huts at the materials recovery facility in Barangay Munting Batangas.
Each batch of Tupad recipients work for a number of days for a certain fee as assistance from DOLE.
Garcia acknowledged the help extended by DOLE – Bataan represented by Mary Ann Rivera, Nerissa Mateo of the city agriculture office, Noriel Dacion of the Balanga City public employment service office and Maria Eva Basalo of PESO – Bataan.
The congressman also thanked Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd and the Balanga City government headed by Mayor Francis Garcia, Vice Mayor Vianca Lita Gozon and the sangguniang panglungsod for assisting in the implementation of the program.
