FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — Approximately 500 residents of Rizal town benefitted from the Serbisyo Caravan held at barangay Estrella gymnasium.
The activity was co-organized by the 703rd Infantry Brigade, 84th Infantry Battalion, municipal government of Rizal and Rotary Club of San Jose City Golden Harvest.
“Our Fort Magsaysay Army Station Hospital provided free medical and dental services and optical check-ups while the local government brought the services of its Assessors’, Engineering, Agriculture and Human Relations Offices,” 703rd Brigade Commander Colonel Andrew D. Costelo said.
Other services given include free haircut and provision of free meals.
On the same day, the Army launched a Community Support Program which aims to resolve existing issues and concerns of the locals by connecting them to the respective government agencies concerned.
In a statement, 7th Infantry Division Commander Major General Lenard T. Agustin said that an integral part of Philippine Army’s public service is helping deliver and provide basic humanitarian services to the marginalized communities to effectively bring the government closer to the people.
