ABUCAY, Bataan – Forty-five couples exchanged vows and professed love for one another in sickness or in health and for poorer or for richer in a mass wedding Wednesday at dusk here.
Mayor Liberato Santiago officiated in the Kasalang Bayan held at the Abucay Café. “You are so lucky because finally, you are legally married in this simple and free wedding,” he said.
The youngest groom was 20 years old while the oldest is 61.
Tiburcio, 61, and Esperanza Isaac, 52, were living-in for 21 years and have three children before they finally tied the knot.
Some couples were in casual attire while some women were in white gowns and some men in short barong. They have a ninong and a ninang each.
After the mayor declared them as legally married, the couples sealed the ceremony with a kiss.
