CASTILLEJOS, Zambales – The municipal task forceCovid–19 here confirmed that one PUI positive of the deadly disease died last March 27.
This was the first confirmed death reported by the Zambales Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force headed by Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr.
The patient, a 90–years–ld male from Castillejos was rushed to Allied Care Medical Center-Unihealth Baypointe Hospital inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone after experiencing symptoms of Covid–19 last March 20.
He had no travel history to any Covid 19–infected area. Last March 21, he was subjected to swab test by the hospital doctors. He almost midnight of March 27. He was immediately cremated at the Olongapo Crematorium to avoid possible infection of the said virus.
Dr. Noel Bueno, Zambales provincial Health Officer, confirmed that the patient was positive of Covid 19. The local government unit will conduct disinfection and a total lockdown around the residence of the victim. Contact tracing is already being done.
