Sintin identified the suspects as Christian Romero, 22, married, of Barangay Salomague; John Mark Evangelista, 25, single, of Poblacion Sur; and Leonard Agustin, 20, single, of Barangay Manaois all of Paniqui town.
In his report, Paniqui chief of police Supt. Salvador Destura said the three were responsible for the series of motorcycle thefts in this province and nearby Pangasinan and Pampanga.
On March 20, Evangelista was arrested when a concerned citizen reported to Paniqui police that there was a man showing a gun to his companion at Paniqui Public Market prompting the police to proceed at the place and apprehended Evangelista.
On Sunday, Romero was arrested for allegedly selling a motorcycle without document that was immediately reported to the police. When the police was about to arrest him, he tried to flee but he was chased and when apprehended, yielded a homemade .38 pistol without serial number.
The police also recovered the Honda TMX 155 motorcycle during a follow-up operation in Barangay Coral.
At about 10 a.m. also last Sunday, a certain Floren Madrid, 23, married, of Purok 3, Barangay Pance, Ramos town and security guard of Salvation Security Agency appeared at Paniqui police reporting that his motorcycle was missing.
By 11 a.m., the police saw the stolen motorcycle at the Paniqui Plaza driven by Agustin who at first tried to elude the arrest but due to traffic congestion was apprehend and failed to show pertinent documents proving ownership of the said vehicle.
The three suspects are now detained at the Paniqui Police Station facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and theft.
