CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- Three suspected members of a group engaged in drug trafficking and carnapping motorcycles belonging to Indian nationals were arrested by the police in a buybust operation in Barangay
Pandakaki in Mexico town yesterday.
Policemen from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation Task Force and the Sta. Rita town police swooped down on the suspects after a poseur bought from them suspected shabu in their hideout in Pandakaki.
The suspects were identified as Miguel Magat, 30, of Barangay Pandakaki, Ricky Bulaon, 32, of Manibaug Pasig in Porac, and Jay Lingat, 30, also of Manibaug Pasig. The lawmen found in their possession two pieces heat-sealed transparent sachet containing suspected shabu, 53 pieces of plastic sachets, one calibre 9 mm.
pistol and one magazine loaded with bullets, one calibre 22 pistol with bullets and two pieces marked P500 bills.
They also found several apparently stolen motorcycles that included one Honda XRM motorcycle with plate mark 1801 CK, a Honda Wave motorcycle 125 without plate, one Yamaha Mio motorcycle with plate mark 7325 XA, another Honda Wave motorcycle without plate, a Sym motorcycle with plate 2348, another Honda TMX motorcycle with plate 6226 IE.
Police said that the three suspects belonged to a group engaged in illegal drugs, as well as stealing motorcycles in the cities of Angeles, Mabalacat, and San Fernando and the town of Mexico.
Provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde cited reports that most of their motorcycle theft victims were Indian nationals engaged in buy-and-sell business.
