Senior Inspector Jennifer Cruz, Abucay police chief, said caught Wednesday afternoon in the act of disposing waste materials from an Isuzu truck in Barangay Mabatang were sub-contractor Cecilio Punzalan, 71, of Mariveles Bataan and two helpers, Reynaldo Apollo, 47, and Delfi n delos Santos, 36, both from Hermosa, Bataan.
Cruz said the sub-contractor admitted that the wastes came from a big poultry farm producing dressed chickens in Hermosa.
Leo Manrique, Abucay Sangguniang Bayan secretary, said the local government unit filed a case for violation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 against the suspects.
Manrique was authorized by the Abucay SB and Mayor Liberato Santiago, Jr. to file civil and criminal complaints against persons in violation of laws and ordinances in behalf of the LGU.
He said that they saw no violation from the poultry farm that has a contract with the sub-contractor to dispose of the company’s waste materials.
The private lot was only about 100 meters from the Roman Highway.
The three suspects were brought to the provincial prosecutor Thursday morning for inquest proceedings.
