CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — About 21,000 local and overseas employment opportunities will be made available to Central Luzon jobseekers as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 3 conducts its “Trabaho Agad” job fairs as part of the Handog ng Pangulo celebration for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s birthday.
The regionwide employment activity aims to bring jobs, livelihood opportunities, and essential government services closer to workers and jobseekers, particularly those who remain unemployed.
As of September 9, the agency disclosed that it has solicited 16,702 local vacancies and 4,685 overseas positions from participating employers and recruitment agencies, with the figures expected to increase as additional vacancies are gathered.
A total of 131 local employers and 20 overseas recruitment agencies are expected to participate, offering jobs in manufacturing, business process outsourcing, services, and other industries.
Among the in-demand local positions are production operators, customer service representatives, production associates, quality assurance inspectors, and machine operators, while overseas vacancies include carpenters, sewers, caregivers, food processing workers, and construction workers.
The job fairs will also provide access to frontline services from government agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Migrant Workers, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Selected payouts under the Special Program for the Employment of Students, and Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, as well as livelihood awarding activities, are also scheduled during the events.
DOLE said the activity will begin with a pre-Handog ng Pangulo job fair in Bulacan on Sunday, September 13 at the Bulacan Provincial Gymnasium in Malolos City.
On Monday, September 14, simultaneous job fairs will be held in Aurora, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.
The venues include the Dipaculao Sport Center in Dipaculao, Aurora; The Bunker Building in Balanga City, Bataan; Waltermart Talavera in Talavera, Nueva Ecija; Robinsons Angeles in Angeles City, Pampanga; Tarlac City Plazuela Hall in Tarlac City; and SM City Olongapo Central in Olongapo City and Botolan People’s Plaza in Botolan, Zambales.
The job fairs will run from 9:00AM to 4:00PM, and applicants are advised to bring several copies of their resumes, valid identification cards, and other application documents.
The Handog ng Pangulo activities support the Marcos Jr. administration’s thrust to bring employment and income-generating opportunities closer to workers and carries the theme “Serbisyong Sapat, Para sa Lahat.” (CLJD/MJSC, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
