TARLAC CITY (PIA) — A total of 20 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries from Pura, Tarlac have undergone skills training on pickling and vegetable fermentation.
This is in line with the initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to provide sustainable livelihood, and to encourage more potential entrepreneurs to venture in the business field.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo noted that the training seeks to enhance not only the skills of the beneficiaries, but also the overall quality and marketability of their products.
“The activity aims to introduce new skills to the participants and encourage them to venture into business to generate income, and support their families,” she stated.
With the assistance of the Pura Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the beneficiaries finished the training on pickled papaya and kimchi making.
Rhoda Aganon, a 37-year old house helper, said that she is grateful for the opportunity to learn a new skill which could pave the way for starting her own business in the future.
“Thank you DTI for giving us a chance to improve our livelihood. Your free training goes a long way in improving the lives of my family especially my two children,” Aganon stated.
She stressed that she is hoping to attend additional training to further harness her skills on entrepreneurship and business development.
DTI provides seminars to various sectors to encourage more Tarlaqueños to start their business journey, generate employment, and boost the local economy of the province. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
