CABANATUAN CITY – At least two suspected drug pushers were killed by still unidentified persons in different incidents in Nueva Ecija in four days.

Police identified the victims as Moriel Tina, 38, resident of Purok 1, Barangay Marikit, Pantabangan and Gerardo de Jesus,47, of San Mariano San Antonio town..

PO2 Rodelio Rivera, investigator, said that Tina who was No.1 in the local police’s Lambat Sibat target list for alleged illegal drugs peddling was shot dead by a gunman at the terrace of his house at about 9 p.m. on Saturday.

He sustained five gunshot wounds from a .45 pistol, police said. De Jesus, on the other hand, was driving a tricycle with his daughter on board when shot to death by a motorcycle-riding tandem, in Purok 3, Barangay Nyugan, Jaen at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to PO2 Edwin Vicmundo.

Police record showed de Jesus was No. 4 in the drugs watch list of San Antonio police station.

The Church and human rights advocates have expressed alarm over the series of execution on people suspected to be in illegal drugs trade in different parts of the country, coinciding with the call of incoming President Rody Duterte for the people to help in fight against drug personalities.

Police, however, would only say follow up investigations are being conducted for possible arrest of the suspects.
