CABANATUAN CITY -Two suspected pushers of illegal drugs were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Nuva Ecija on Tuesday.

Police identified the fatalities as Alfie Tuazon, of Barangay San Roque, San Isidro and Dennis Enage, resident of Barangay Caalibangbangan this city.

Investigation showed Tuazon was killed after heallegedly ran inside the house of a certain Marlyn Santiago and fired at police operatives at about 9:10 a.m.

This, police said, after the suspect apparently sensed transacting with an undercover policeman.

Forensic investigators recovered from the suspect the P1,000 buybust money, a sachet of shabu, and a .9mm pistol.

Tuazon was in the town police’s drug watchlist and leader of the drug group named after him, according to San Isidro police chief Maj. Joel dela Cruz.

The second fatality, Enage, was killed in an encounter with elements of the Cabanatuan City police drug enforcement unit in Barangay H. Concepcion here at about 8:40 p.m., according to city police chief Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo.

Dasugo said an undercover operative was able to buy one sachet of suspected shabu using two P500 marked bills from the suspect.

Enage opened fire as operatives tried to arrest him, prompting the lawmen to “retaliate causing the death of the suspect,” Dasugo reported.

Recovered from the suspect were a sachet of shabu, the marked bill, one .45 pistol and a motorcycle.

Both drug sting operations were made in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, police said.
