2 drug stings net P2.5-M shabu

BALANGA CITY — Police arrested three drug peddlers and confiscated suspected shabu worth more than P2.5 million in two separate sting operations in Abucay and Mariveles towns in Bataan.

Bataan police director Colonel Palmer Tria said two suspects were nabbed and shabu with standard drug price of P2,040,000 seized during the buy-bust operation in Barangay Calaylayan in Abucay Friday afternoon.

The raiding team composed of personnel from the Abucay municipal police station under Major Jonathan Mostoles, together with the Bataan Police Intelligence Unit,  Police Provincial Drugs Enforcement Unit in coordination with PDEA,  confiscated 300 grams of suspected shabu.

In Mariveles, police operatives apprehended a suspect considered as a high-value target individual and confiscated substance believed to be shabu worth P503,200 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Townsite Wednesday.

Colonel Tria said that personnel of the Mariveles municipal police station headed by Lt. Col. Joelito Orias  and the Bataan 2nd mobile force company conducted the anti-illegal drug operation that resulted to the apprehension of suspect and seizure of two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 74 grams.

Illegal drugs seized in Abucay and Mariveles were all sourced outside Bataan.

The three suspects face charges for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
