CLARK FREEPORT – The Philippine National Police said it would deploy 1,000 cops for the opening ceremonies of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on November 30.

During the send-off ceremony of the Bulacan Cluster on Monday, Bulacan police provincial director Col. Chito Bersaluna assured that the police will adhere to its sworn mandate and do its best to maintain peace and order during the event.

Bersaluna said the deployment of a thousand policemen is to assure the safety and security of athletes and officials as well as spectators in the opening ceremony of the SEAG.

In line with this, the Armed Forces of the Philippines will also assign soldiers as augmentation force in the SEAG as well as members of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
