MALOLOS CITY — A total of 198 families affected by the ongoing construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) in Bulacan were provided with supplementary income opportunities as the Department of Transportation distributed livelihood package to help improve their economic condition.

With the guidance of DOTr Secretary Banoy Lopez, Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition for Rail and Road IC Calaguas led the distribution of P15,000 worth of sari-sari store package to each of 198 families to augment their existing stores held at the Bulacan Sports Complex here on Sept. 30.

A second batch of families will go on training to complete a total of 500 beneficiaries.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the DOTr to ensure livelihood for families who had been relocated due to the construction of transport infrastructure projects.  DOTr-PR
