Police said the injured were first brought to the St. Michael Hospital in Orion, Bataan but later some were transferred to the Bataan General Hospital (BGH) in Balanga City.
Left at the St. Michael Hospital were four crews with second to third degree burns and other crews although far from the engine room who suffered cuts and bruises from broken window glasses.
Dr. Noel Laxamana, head of BGH Emergency Room, said six were rushed to the government hospital.
“Malakas ang pagsabog, bigla lang,” a crew with minor injuries said.
He said that he and the other crews were at the back of motor tanker Rhea Faye when they heard the sudden explosion.
He said they were docked in the Limay waters while waiting for their turn to be loaded with oil products from an oil refinery.
Police said they were still in the process of investigation.
