The seminar, which was conducted in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, aims to arm participants with the right skills and knowledge to unlock their potential in business ventures.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said this is one way for the government to provide the next step for the graduates to earn for themselves.

“We hope that this activity will encourage the participants to consider going into business to sustain their needs and become financially independent,” she added.

Negosyo Center Business Counselor Luis Casupanan discussed the characteristics of an entrepreneur, the rewards and risks of entrepreneurship, business types, and determining product lines or services.

He also mentioned the different types of assistance provided by DTI to start-ups such as business name registration and product development.

One of the attendees, Honeybee Guevarra, said the seminar widened their perspective and they will now consider becoming entrepreneurs.

“Since we have graduated from the 4Ps of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, this is a big help for us to open our minds to the idea of earning through business opportunities so that we will no longer experience difficulties in life,” she emphasized.

The seminar coincided with the graduation ceremony of 4Ps beneficiaries entitled “Pugay Tagumpay para sa mga Sambahayang 4Ps”.

DTI holds training activities to spur local economic development, and to help potential and budding micro, small and medium enterprises to start and improve their business. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
