TARLAC CITY (PIA) — A total of 150 Indigenous Peoples (IPs) received services during the convergence activity of various government agencies led by 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion (3rd Mech Bn) at Sitio Manabayukan, Barangay Sta. Lucia in Capas, Tarlac.

Assistance provided include medical check-ups, family planning seminar, educational support, and feeding activity to ensure accessible healthcare and education for the residents.

Major Rani Birog, representative of 3rd Mech Bn Acting Commander LtCol Ryan Villar, extended his gratitude and appreciation to the efforts of partner agencies in reaching out to the far-flung community.

“Through this, we can demonstrate the unity and collaboration of government agencies to bring services closer to our fellow countrymen, particularly the indigenous peoples in remote areas,” he said.

Meanwhile, Manabayukan Elementary School Head Carol Simbulan noted that the initiative is significant in facilitating an inclusive and quality education for all IP children in Sitio Manabayukan.

“Your support is meaningful and a big help especially to our IP learners. We could not do it without people like you. Your kindness and generosity inspire us to continue our mission in educating our IP students most likely in far-flung sitios here in Tarlac,” Simbulan emphasized.

For his part, Sitio Leader Raul Cabalic likewise thanked the agencies for choosing their community as the outreach program beneficiary.

“Thank you to all government agencies who are ready and dedicated to help communities living in mountain areas. As the leader, I am happy that you are willing to cross the bumpy and rough roads just so you can give your support and aid to us,” he stated.

The activity was made possible in partnership with the Tarlac Provincial Health Office, Rural Health Unit of Capas, Department of Education, Armor Division, 702nd Infantry Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, and members of Officer Candidate Course Class 60-2024 “ARAMSIDLAK”.
