CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A total of 144 persons were arrested while P3.4 million worth of shabu, illegal gambling proceeds, and illegal firearms were confiscated in various police operations in the first week of the implementation of Oplan Angry Bird of the Bulacan police.
Bulacan police director Col. Chito Bersaluna said Oplan Angry Bird was implemented last week as an intensified campaign against illegal drugs, loose firearms, unregistered vehicles, and various violations of local laws.
He also said the policeĀ confiscated 236 open motorcycle pipes and impounded 93 motorcycles whose riders failed to produce required documents.
Bersaluna noted that 97 police operations were undertaken in the first week, leading to the arrest of 144 persons found engaged in illegal drugs activities. A total of 200 plastic sachets of shabu and related paraphernalia worth P3.4 million were confiscated from them.
The arrests also involved persons possessing illegal firearms as well as those found engaged in illegal gambling.
