CLARK FREEPORT – The milk tea craze has invaded this freeport with the opening of Zii Milk Tea and Café at the Berthaphil III here on Monday.

Owner Luchie Lozano said she studied the milk tea making process in Taiwan and selected the best tea leaves to pair with other teas making sure of the blends authenticity and quality giving Kapampangans’ love for milk tea a notch higher in its standards.

Lozano said milk tea drinking started in Taiwan in the 1980’s. Soon after, it became a worldwide phenomenon and even a millennial craze that’s rapidly growing on its own.

Traditionally served as freshly brewed tea with milk and ice shaken up to the core that created bubbles which evolved to the term “bubble tea,” that it is now popularly known.

True to her Kapampangan roots, Lozano’s love for creating memories through good food can be found at Zii Milk Tea and Café.

Lozano, president and CEO of Giada Luan Corp, is also the owner of G Cafe here and Sweet Maria’s in nearby Angeles City and Sindalan in the City of San Fernando.

Zii Milk Tea and Café offers various milk tea beverages from the original milk tea classics to Zii’s cream cheese series and brown sugar concoctions.

Its special Thai tea and milk tea with cheesecake fi llings and fruit tea juices are a must-try too.

But one distinctive way of setting Zii apart from the rest is their milk tea-based beverages which doesn’t contain sugar. That’s right. Sugar level and percentage at Zii do not exist.

“Let me repeat that again — sugar level and percentage at Zii do not exist,” said Lozano.

“This is simply because our black tea is based on a blend of four kinds of tea, one being herbal,” she added.

Now isn’t that the kind of milk tea we would all love to be indulging? But just in case you want it sweeter, Zii sweeteners come from the tapioca pearls, Oreos and other add-ons they offer.

You can taste the balance between the tea and the milk as it lives up to its hype, giving locals a new experience among other milk tea shops sprouting in every corner.

Zii’s current “Barkada promo” is “Buy 3 Drinks and Get 1 For Free” and will run until August 4! So, hurry! You can also check out their Facebook page for promo updates.
