Zambales Paskuhan Fair opens at Harbor Point Ayala Mall

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Zambales Paskuhan Fair opened with 35 micro, small and medium enterprises from Olongapo City and Zambales displaying their locally made products at the Activity Center, Harbor Point Ayala Mall on Dec. 4 and would last until Dec. 9.

Department of Trade and Industry-Zambales director Enrique Tacbad said the Paskuhan Fair is highlighted by youth entrepreneurs that showcase their products from Columban College.

“We are hoping the young entrepreneurs program from DTI will be sustained and continue so that we will be able to look for young enterprise for the province of Zambales and City of Olongapo,” said Tacbad.

According to Tacbad, the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program has already been signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, and the DTI will be partnering with local government units for the establishment of the OTOP Hub.

The OTOP law will upsize, upskill and upgrade MSMEs which are consider the backbone of Philippine economy for job generation and employment, he said.

Tacbad also disclosed that under the consumer protection program, the DTI continues the “Ikot palengke program” wherein the defective weighing scales are confiscated.

The Timbangan ng Bayan for public markets which has been given  since 2016 will be replaced and will be provided by the provincial government headed by Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr.
