Relatives identified the victims as James Carl Guzman, 22, of Barangay Wawa in Abucay, Bataan and his girlfriend Glory Mary Carbonell, 22, of Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan.
They were both workers of a Jollibee outlet in this city. The body of Guzman was found in Orion while the remains of Carbonell in Pilar.
Pilar and Orion are the next towns after Balanga where the lovers were last seen at the wetland park in the seaside village of Tortugas.
Tortugas barangay chairman Rogelio de Guzman said they discovered that the two were missing when village tanod found a bag, slippers and cellphone left beside the replica of a giant clay pot at the cement riprap on the side of the sea.
He said the tanod tried to look for the owners of the items but found no one and so reported the matter to the police at about 7 in the evening. Lotlot Guzman said she last saw her son James 2 p.m. of Saturday.
“Nagpaalam na iaayos daw niya schedule at kukunin suweldo niya. Ang paalam naman ng babae, magsisimba sila pero hindi pala natuloy at sa park napunta,” the mother said.
She was crying hard over the loss of her elder son of two children. Police said investigation still going on.
