“It takes a community to build resilience.”

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera shared these words during the opening of Camp HARAYA on June 25, held at the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) Emergency Operations Center in Clark Freeport.

Thirty-five youth participants from various Metro Clark local government units will take part in the three-day seminar organized by PDRF, in partnership with CDC and the Metro Clark Advisory Council.

Camp HARAYA (Harnessing Advocacy and Resilience for the Advancement of Youth in Action) focuses on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA). It equips young leaders with the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to resilient, climate-smart communities.

Sponsored by Give2Asia, a nonprofit international organization, the program features hands-on learning, field visits, and interactive sessions designed to strengthen local disaster preparedness and climate action.

Also present were PDRF leadership, staff, and volunteers, led by President Rene Meily and Executive Director Veronica Gabaldon.
